Video Splitter- View Crystal Clear Images on Multiple Displays From a Single Source

Published on December 25, 2011 By admin

Video Splitter is a hardware device whose arrival has made things possible, which weren’t earlier. Before, it was almost unimaginable to think of displaying images that originate from a single source and display it simultaneously on multiple devices. However, these splitters have made it possible to split the signal from a single source and relay them on multiple devices, the major advantage being that the signal is boosted as well, thereby making the output devices display crisp and clear images; due to this added advantage the device is also popularly known as video distribution amplifier.
The splitters are pretty easy to use and work on simple plug and play functionality. High Definition resolutions such as 720i, 1080p and so on are supported by this device.
HDMI cables have the capability of integrating video and audio signals on to a single cable, thereby allowing the user to avoid the use of bulky VGA and audio cables that are associated with standard clutter. The best part of these cables is that the conversion of digital to analog signals and then back to digital signals is not required; instead the signals are kept in their original format and uncompressed.
Coming to the features of video splitter, it is compatible with any operating system i.e. the user would not be facing any compatibility issues while using any operating system; the device consumes very less power making it energy efficient; it requires no software or drivers for working and is also easy to install. The splitter is HDCP and RoHS compliant and is certified by FCC/CE. With the help of push buttons that are placed on the unit or through RS232, switching of the output devices is made possible. Optional methods for switching include Infrared and TCP/IP control. The features mentioned above has made this device popular in the Home Theatre segment and for situations where it is highly recommended to display the same image onto various devices, with high crisp and clarity. The video splitter could be ideally used for monitoring work environments, training facilities and so on and so forth.

New GPS And Other Mounts From RAM

For anyone who would prefer having their GPS routing come through on a larger screen format, say for example the Apple iPad, or the HP TouchPad or the Lenovo LePad, there is now a solution on the market. This is the cradle that everyone has been waiting for: the Tab 3. The RAM Mount Tab-Tite 3 is the universal cradle that provides a custom fit. Spring loaded to fit a variety of tablets, it also has a quick release feature so users can easily transition their tablets in and out of the cradle.

Made from high strength composite, the Tab 3 is compatible with the Apple iPad (with and without a bumper or case), the Apple iPad 2, the HP Slate, the HP TouchPad and the Lenovo LePad. When the tablet is secured into the cradle, users still have full access to all ports, including usb, power and audio jacks.

The Tab 3 will work with tablets that fit within the following range of dimensions: 8.25″ to 10.75″ in height, up to 7.81″ in width and up to .56″ in edge depth. Although the Tab-Tite cradle is classified as a universal mount, it is not recommended for use if the tablet does not meet the dimension requirements.

As of March 30, RAM Mounts confirmed that the Motorola Xoom will not work with the Tab 3. Although originally believed to be compatible, the cradle did not provide the expected support. Currently, RAM Mounts, the manufacturer, is working on developing a customized cradle for the Xoom.

GPS Communicating From the Boondocks

Ever wonder how those wilderness adventurers are able to relay gps messages to the outside world when we sometimes have trouble making calls from certain locations in our neighborhood? I used to have a neighbor who had to literally step outside of his home, into his backyard, in order to get a clear enough signal to make a call on his cell phone. Yet, a wilderness hiker in a remote region of the mountains of Azerbaijan can make contact with whomever he wishes.

Have I peaked your interest? If you’re thinking gps satellite telephones, think again. Though satellite telephones have been available for use in remote areas, and they do in fact work, unfortunately the cost is still prohibitive. Here is the more affordable solution. We can now use GPS satellite capabilities through a Spot Connect device in conjunction with a Smartphone. This will allow the explorer to send brief text messages when necessary. This technology may not be suitable for keeping and posting a journal or log, but it will allow for pertinent and emergency messages to reach the right party and get you the help you need.

Typically, when you’re out hiking or climbing, the cell phone is unreliable if you’re not in a narrow canyon or covered and surrounded by dense foliage. Also, as my neighbor discovered, it is necessary to have a line of sight for good reception. Though there are some limitations with this type of gps technology, it is well worth having as you venture out.

Dvi Switch Transmission of Dvi Signals From Many Sources to One

Published on July 31, 2011 By admin

Many digital visual interface video sources can be connected to a single DVI display device using a DVI switch. It eliminates the need for having multiple monitors thereby saving additional expenditure and also saves space. Available in 2 and 4 port models, with some featuring optional audio. While the 2 port DVI switch supports single-link DVI-I video signals and allows routing of two DVI equipped devices such as PC’s to a single DVI display; the 4 port switch allows routing of 4 DVI equipped devices to a single DVI display. The DVI video sources are connected to the input ports on the switch which in turn is connected to the display device. Once powered on, it is ready for operation as it works on simple plug and play functionality and does not required additional hardware or device drivers for operation. A category of video switch, it is compatible with display devices such as plasma screens, digital TVs, TFTs, LCDs, game consoles etc.

This device is also available in matrix formats which allow various configurations of interconnection possibilities. Using this, multiple video sources can be connected to multiple displays. Switching between sources is easy and can be done with the help of front panel push buttons, infra red remote control or via RS232. DVI and HDCP compliant, this switch ensures that there is no copying of digital audio and video content and no loss of data and that the resultant images are crisp and clear at a resolution of 1600 x 1200 or 480p, 720 p and 1080p for HDTVs.
