This is a nice device, but beware, it really is only for notebooks. I wanted to use it in the living room, with the computer across the room, but the bluetooth is very weak.

Pushing down the wheel to activate the middle button requires an annoying amount of effort. Once the wheel is down it tends to activate the horizontal scroll buttons as well. If this were a software problem it might be fixed with the latest driver. Unfortunately, I believe this is a mechanical design flaw.

I initially had problems getting this unit to work. It seems that the battery was not well positioned inside the compartment. Eventually I was able to fix this problem. After that the mouse works fine. I am not able to change my original review to the 4 stars that the working product deserves.

The software (a whopping 50+ MB file) must be installed to access the special features such as zooming and side to side scrolling.

My only complaint is that the product feels too light and insubstantial in the hand. A heavier, larger mouse would be more in line with what one is used to on desktops.

The other people reviewing this mouse must use it RIGHT UP AGAINST the receiver. Bought this mouse, immediately returning it, it won't get a signal past 1/2 meter! Not impressed with Logitech, their stuff never lasts more than a year. Going to try my luck with a different manufacturer.

Overall, this is a great mouse - very easy to use, intuitive commands, and pretty much just a "plug and play" device. My only complaint is that the range of use seems to be VERY small. I am right-handed, and the mouse only works within about 4 inches from the right side of my laptop. Outside of 4 inches away, the mouse freezes and I'm constantly having to pick up the mouse and move it back within range. I'm going to try a new battery to see if the issue persists, but right now it's just a quirk to get used to.

You lefties should have no problem :)
